Summary/Objective
API is seeking a seasoned professional to join our company in the role of a Planning Assistant. The position will be based in our headquarters office located in Melville, New York. The Planning Analyst will utilize advanced algorithms to turn data into information and information into insight. While they support the development of hotel schedules for all network clients.

The Planning assistant will encompass the following strategic priorities:
Assist the Planning Team with the following tasks:
· Ensure airline planning files are transferred into API’s ACES system
· Plan and develop airlines monthly bid period hotel and ground transportation schedules
· Comply with airline requirements as negotiated in hotel contracts
• Optimize hotel utilization to produce cost-efficiencies
· Ensure airline business rules are adhere to during hotel assignments
· Release the hotel and ground transportation schedules to the suppliers using the API supplier website
· Confirm all hotel suppliers have received their schedules
· Update ACES system with hotel contract information
· Perform audit of ACES system to ensure accuracy of data
  • Work with Account Management and Operations team to ensure airline rooming requirements are managed on a monthly basis
  • Communicate with airline representative to ensure accuracy of planning schedules
  • Maintains close working relationships with internal and external clients
· Provide periodic status to Director of Airline Integration with regard to assigned projects, tasks and other designated responsibilities
· Work closely with the Account Management team to ensure client needs are met at all times
Required skills:
  • Minimum 1 year in operations or airline crew scheduling experience is preferred
  • Hotel or Airline background will be an asset

  • Strong computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office products especially Excel
  • Ability to effectively manage work load in a fast paced atmosphere
  • Attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality work is a must
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding relationship management and customer service orientation skills.
  • A profound understanding of how political, social and cultural differences between countries, people and cultures affect a successful partnership
  • Flexible to work afterhours based on business demand
  • Multilingual skills a plus, preferable Portuguese or Spanish
Good Faith Compensation Range
The good faith compensation range for this role is $19.50-21.00 per hour. This a non-exempt role.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, normal core business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
