Role Overview:

We are seeking a visionary Chief Architect to build and lead our enterprise-wide architecture function. This is a unique opportunity to design the technology blueprint for a global platform that processes millions of mission-critical transactions daily.

As the most senior architecture leader, you will establish the standards, frameworks, and practices that will scale our business into its next phase of growth.
This role requires strong hands-on execution. You’ll partner with executives, product leaders, and engineering teams to ensure architecture isn’t just theory — it’s the foundation of high-performing, resilient, and secure systems that power our business.

  • Technology investment decisions consistently informed by architectural clarity and foresight.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and Lead the Architecture Function
  • Establish enterprise-wide architecture standards, frameworks, and governance
  • Educate executives, product leaders, and engineers to embed architectural discipline across the organization.
  • Create communication and training programs to drive adoption of best practices.

Define the Enterprise Architecture Blueprint
  • Translate business strategy into technology capabilities across the enterprise.
  • Design a cohesive blueprint that links enterprise, solution, application, data, and security architecture.
  • Ensure technology choices are aligned with long-term scalability, resilience, and modularity.

Guide Solution & Application Architecture
  • Oversee architecture for new platforms and services.
  • Chair the Architecture Review Board to align design decisions across product and engineering.
  • Ensure solutions are built for scalability, flexibility, and reuse.

Shape Data & Security Architecture
  • Define the data architecture roadmap and governance practices that enable analytics, AI, and compliance.
  • Partner with the security leader to integrate secure-by-design principles into all technology layers.

Set Technology & Infrastructure Direction
  • Provide guidance on cloud adoption, DevSecOps, and infrastructure strategy.
  • Define reference architectures for microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems.
  • Support high-volume, high-reliability operations with scalable architecture practices.

Leadership & Influence
  • Build and inspire a team of enterprise, solution, application, data, and security architects.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the executive team on technology investment, risk, and platform strategy.
  • Serve as the chief evangelist of architecture, influencing at all levels of the organization.


Key Qualifications:

Must-Have
  • 15–20+ years of experience in technology and architecture leadership, with at least 5 years as a Chief Architect in similar size organizations.
  • Background in platform, payments, fintech, e-commerce, or other high-transaction, high-availability industries strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of establishing architecture functions in organizations without existing standards.
  • Deep expertise across enterprise, solution, application, data, and security architectures.
  • Mastery of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven design.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills — able to educate, influence, and inspire at all levels.
  • Strong change management experience: capable of building frameworks, gaining buy-in, and embedding practices.


Preferred
  • Experience working in platform or marketplace companies (e.g., Uber, Airbnb, DoorDash).
  • Understanding of growth models and technology investment decision frameworks.
  • Knowledge of app performance, monitoring, and governance models in global-scale environments.
The good faith annual compensation for this position is $220,000 - $240,000, commensurate with experience.
